Herbes de Provence 100x100cm canvas

Acrylic and pencil, finished with cold wax.  Deep edged canvas ready to hang or frame. 2023.
This piece was inspired by a tiny ‘Herbes de Provence’ pot I pinched from my mum’s house, it was collecting dust on her microwave and it just made me want to paint it. 
Sept 2022 Mark and I took our van right around France, it was beginning to cool down after the heatwave and Provence was bone dry and scorched. My memories poured onto this canvas, I didn’t want it to be of anywhere in particular, just a feel of late summer intense heat just below the mountains, next stop the Med!
