Pink. 50x60cm Acrylic on cradled deep-edge board

I knew right from the start that the mark making on this board felt like artichoke flowers; I didn’t have any to look at, I don’t grow them and there’s none around me so it was all from my head, because that’s how I create best. The composition was the easier part, resolving the palette was my biggest challenge and this piece has had many iterations, I don’t know where the pink background came from but it felt right after looking at it for 6 weeks of not right!
 
I’ve created it in acrylic with much Mark making, scraping, sanding, scribbling and faffing… my unique process that has so much love and energy poured into it, and I’ve finished it with a cold wax polish so it is a smooth as new leather shoes!
 
I have captured these photos inside my studio and my home to show the differences in light on te painting. The cover page is in my home with over-head warm yellow light. 
 
“Pink” is ready to hang as it has a deep edge, however it would look grand if float framed, which I could arrange at an extra cost.
