Workshops & Classes
My perfect day is spending time in Fig Tin, surrounded by paintings, pottery and the detritus of a working studio and gallery. It's a wonderful thing being able to inspire others to lose themselves for a while and play freely with paint, without rules.

What You Can Expect
Dive into three creative-packed days in my fabulous Georgian studio in the heart of Bewdley. I'll share my technique that I've developed over 30 years! No drawing or planning - just pure imagination using memories of stuff you love. I have no idea what you'll create as it will be completely spontaneous...but it will be wonderful!
Who It's For
Anyone! It doesn't matter what experience you have! I'll provide you with everything you'll need - loads of help or space to do your thing. We'll focus on theory (but nothing too heavy!) it just helps to see how and why a painting works or doesn't, and for me, it's vital for adding depth and confidence to your art, no matter where you’re starting from.

2 DAY WORKSHOP
2 Days of Abstract Familiarity
It's like still life, but better!
A wonderful couple of days painting, with permission to make a glorious mess...
Dates:
-
August 2nd & 3rd Fully booked!!
-
September 13th & 14th Fully booked!!

Come along to my studio for 2 full days of creativity and joyous mess!
I share all I can about my techniques...and my tea, my prosecco, and my cakes!
I provide you with absolutely everything you need, you just bring yourself!
So it's like the 3 day workshop, but condensed, however there's plenty of time as I guide you through my process and examining the elements and principles that really matter, nothing heavy but you'll see they make sense and together with a large dose of 'yes you can', you'll discover how to create wonderful depth to your artwork, worthy of any wall!
Who's it for?
Whether or not you have any experience is unimportant; I treat each of you as individuals and give you the support you need. Don't compare yourself to anyone else either; it's your experience that matters. My promise is that you can, and will, create wonderful art, maybe not immediately, but you will!
There is no drawing involved, no planning, nor sketching, no copying, no muse, no real things to look at... it's all from your imagination, your memories, and your idea of what you want your painting to look like. I'm just there to show you how.

**Come and join me in the studio for a lovely, creative afternoon – no planning, no pressure, just colour, ink, and freedom.**
As part of Worcestershire Open Studios, I’m opening the doors for a gentle, joyful introduction to working with acrylic inks on luxurious acrylic paper. This is a different way of creating – no sketching, no expectations, and no need to get it ‘right’. Just turn up, try something new, and see where it takes you.
This is how I create simple still life on paper – and how so many of my students have found the confidence to paint freely, without overthinking. It’s a brilliant warm-up if you’ve been feeling stuck, or a chance to reconnect with your creativity if it’s been a while.
No drawing skills needed, no experience at all – and everything you need will be ready and waiting for you.
**Just bring yourself and a willingness to play.**

PLACES TO STAY
Bewdley has many Airbnb and guest houses, some better than others,
and quite a varied price range! I'm not connected to any in particular
but here's a list of those recommended by past students and customers
https://www.og-annexe.co.uk/ About 7-10 mins walk from the studio, beautiful, private, dog friendly and parking. owned by my friend Jade, it's really lovely. If you'd like to book here, let me know
https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/1282784711101987464?viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76
A studio apartment 3 minutes walk and has parking. Owned by my friend Sarah, also really lovely.
https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/1135366677948824729?viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76
building as the above studio. Has parking! Also owned by Sarah.
https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/the-clockhouse-bewdley. 3 minutes wqlk to the studio, they have 1 allocated parking space that might be available.
https://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/severn-valley-guest-house. 10 minute stroll back over the bridge, parking and display at the Severn Valley Railway
There are more, but these are the most used.
Parking can be a pain for everyone, even residents. It's an old town and the car parks are all pay and display. Out of town, if you fancy a walk in, you will find a lot of on road parking.
The Horn and Trumpet is a noisy bar - avoid that
The Courtyard has a noisy venue next door
Mingo Cottage I don't recommend as the owner was not helpful with my guests.
The Mug House was not up to standard, sadly, but the food is good.
EATING OUT
Bewdley has 4 great curry houses, a Thai, a Mediterranean, a great chippy, 2 Chinese take-aways, a fancy restaurant and a fair few pubs that do food, oh and a huge Wetherspoons!
There's a Sainsbury’s and a Tesco, a sandwich deli, bakery, butcher, coffee shops, ice cream parlour, farm shop and an old fashioned ed sweet shop... you won't starve!
