Half-Day Painting Workshops
Abstracting flowers through the seasons
£65 each session
including all materials
6 places available per workshop
There's a particular joy in painting flowers, particularly when abstracting or giving an impression of the form; the way they flop over in jugs, the irregular marks, the wilting, the fallen petals, the seed heads and the gnarly dried leaves... that's what I love to capture.
ā
These half-day workshops follow the seasons, loosely and instinctively. Each one has a simple theme to give us a starting point, but from there it’s about process, curiosity and seeing where your paint takes you.
ā
We’ll work in a small group, using techniques I’ve developed over years of painting; layering, scraping back, scribbling, pushing and pulling, these will help you loosen up and trust your brush.
ā
The workshops are designed to give you a taster of how to paint differently, with a more forgiving and achievable approach.
They are not designed for you to copy what I do or produce a finished, polished piece of art. It’s about learning how to build a painting, work with it, and enjoy the process of making something that feels honest.
ā
Come for one. Come for a few. Each session stands alone, but together they form a nice little rhythm through to the summer.
All levels welcome. No pressure. Just paint, and if it’s your first time painting in years, you’re very welcome!
ā
I provide everything you'll need, including tea/coffee and biscuits. Please bring a light lunch if you think you'll be hungry - to eat on the go as we don't stop to eat, time will fly by, and there's a lot to get done!
