Service Description

I teach you how to play again, paint like a child with no expectation, not like the adult with rules and judgment. We start with learning about colour, contrasts/differences, and composition... without knowing some basics you're going to struggle at any level. From the layers of mark-making, we will find a very simple composition without sketching, planning, or trying too hard. 'Abstract Familiarity' is my way of describing how I approach contemporary still-life painting. It just means I use imagination to create what I already know and love, and then I abstract it. simple really! I will guide you through some of the unique and quite addictive techniques I have developed over 4 decades of practice, they may help your art practice or start you off with your love of painting. Any level is welcome, it's a very different way of painting and you do not need experience. The workshop is from 10- 2, so a half day of guided and supported art making. I'd advise you not to wear your nice clothes to paint in, acrylic does not come off! My gorgeous creative corner of Bewdley awaits you, so why not leave your normal and join me in mine for a while? I will supply you with everything you need, light refreshments, and a wonderfully creative environment.
