The full title is ‘In The Evening We Drank Ginger Beer Amongst The Sunflowers’… I’d called it this as soon as the bottle appeared, it just made me do it. I LOVE this piece, I was captured by the narrative and spent hours into many nights listening to my Audible book, unable to stop painting or listening.
The composition grew from spontaneous marks, nothing was planned, there was no expectation. The top middle flower revealed itself first, the pink felt like an echinacea, which took me to the garden, and the rest just happened. Many, many hours, so many layers, sanding, scraping, changes and additions. Finished with a cold wax buff and has been beautifully bespoke framed locally. It’s ready for your wall.
