A Night Out

Opening a brand new canvas is exciting, laying down the first layers of paint is even more so, especially if you approach it without any intention to create anything in particular. This is the really fun bit, just playing with colour and seeing if anything evolves! In this case there was an obvious old fireplace shape and the rest developed spontaneously. 
I’m creating a body of work using the same limited palette, all unplanned and spontaneous, inspired by my love of vintage pottery, my home and still life. I guess that’s why this composition appeared!
