Black Table with Fruit

Painted on a baking hot day, it just evolved from it's previous iteration which was a landcape. I you look closely you can see the patterns of the trees within the bowl, when I turned the original upside down all I could see was obvious shapes for a fruit bowl and the flower stems. So that's what happened, eventually, after many, many layers, scraping and sanding! 
I've added a short timelapse of one of the stages which doesn't require any explanation really!
 
It was a hot day and the colours came from the sharp contrast between sun and shade. Not a typical palette for me but that green has stayed!
