Her Perfume Bottles 65x50cm acrylic and ink on paper and board, framed

£495.00Price

Created in ink and acrylic on beautiful Hahnemuhle heavy acrylic paper.

*the painting requires framing. If requested I can adhere to a panel for tray or traditional framing, it does not necessarily require glass as it is acrylic. Without a board it will require glass to keep it flat. It is protected with matte medium.

I love to splatter inks spontaneously on to wet paper, which means I chuck it on and don’t think about it. There’s no intention, plan or critique about what I do.

Once this particular inky mess started to dry, it felt reminiscent of our kitchen wallpaper in the 1970s, which got me in a roundabout way thinking of there hordes of objet d’art that I’m sorting through packing up to move. I’d saved my Aunt’s perfume bottles from the charity bag cull, they are so beautiful and I remember clearly playing with them as a child. Some things you have to keep! And that’s why I painted this, just because of a memory and love of old bottles, pots and tat!
