3 Pears and a Teapot Acrylic on paper Co and 59.5x42cm cradled wooden panel
A spontaneous creation in March 2023 utilising another composition demo on paper, inspired by the underneath ink and mark making and possibly my obvious obsession with teapots and a tendency to find space for a bowl of fruit!
As with my other work, I like to have a narrative and this feels like I’ve returned from the shops desperate for a cup of tea, the flowers had to wait for their jug of water. Or perhaps the teapot was another charity shop find and the tulips are destined to sit in it?
Initially on acrylic paper then adhered to a wooden panel, just to see if I liked the result - it was risky but I love how it looks and seeing the edge of the paper isn’t an issue for me, as it’s part of the overall piece. Everything is sealed with matte medium and is as stable as any other acrylic painting. Ready for framing though can be slung on a simple nail if you prefer!
